Welcome to The Kevin Mullin Memorial Fund website.

Kevin got his wings Thursday August 9, 2001. His cancer did NOT survive, but Kevin’s spirit will live on forever. Kevin went to be with God peacefully and with a smile. We love you Kevin.

Why lemonhead? The tumor in my brain is the size of a lemon. That’s why!

Our family is dedicated to finding a cure for brain tumors. Kevin Mullin was 17 years old when he lost his battle with a malignant brain tumor on August 9, 2001. His wish was that a cure be found so no other child or adult would have to experience the journey of a brain tumor.
Thus far we have been able to raise $413,000.00 for research at Nationwide Children’s Research Institute, the American Brain Tumor Association , and Ohio State University Cancer Research Fund.. We know this is only a drop in the bucket so we want to continue this fight and hope to make a difference.
2025 UPDATE
Our 2025 Fundraiser we held on Saturday April 26 was another great success. We were able to donate $10,000 to Nationwide Children’s Research Institute, $4,000 to The American Brain Tumor Association and $1,000 to the Brain Cancer Therapy Fund at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
We are so thankful for all of our faithful supporters. We could not do this without your help.
We will be having another Fundraiser in 2026 but plans have not been finalized yet. Check back for updates.
Another way for you to help us out is to send a donation. If you would like to send a donation we will be most happy to accept that. We are a 501c3 non-profit so all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You can a send a check to:

BRAIN TUMOR FACTS
- Although there are increased survival rates for many types of cancer, aggressive brain tumor survival rates have not improved much in the 23 years since Kevin lost his battle.
- The deadliest form of brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), even with aggressive treatment, only has an average survival rate of 18-24 months.
3. More than 90,000 people are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor every year.
4. Brain Cancer is the most common form of solid tumor in children,
5. Approximately 3,400 children (age 0-14) are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor each year.
6. Approximately 12, 800 adolescents and young adults (age 15-39) are diagnosed with a primary brain tumor each year.
7. There are 120 different kinds of primary and central nervous system (CNS) tumors.
8. Nearly one third of all brain tumors are malignant.
9. More than 28,000 children in the USA are fighting brain tumors
10. Each year, approximately 17,200 people die due to a malignant brain tumor.
Unfortunately, because the number of people diagnosed is relatively small, there is not much attention or funding to fight this disease and it appears there will be less funding in the days to come. This is why our family continues to fight for a cure or at the least long-term treatment for a longer survival.
